After a careful inspection you determine that a blood-grooved golvern katana is a katana and requires skill in two-handed and one-handed edged weapons to use effectively.
It looks like this item has been mainly crafted out of golvern, a very rare metal. It would need to be supplied to be used in an alteration and may only be used as an accent.
The blade of the weapon has been folded and hammered countless times, revealing a keen edge and flawless grain. In addition, a pair of fullers have been cut to reduce weight and lend balance. The handle has been carved of fine ivory, wrapped in luxurious silk cord, and finished with a dragon-carved jade cap. It has a small enchanter's glyph.
